Farm Volunteer Day: Fire Dance Arbor
We are honored to be hosting the Animatrix Fire Dance this fall! There is a lot to do to get the ceremonial dance arbor space ready so we are asking for help in preparing.
We have cleared the space in the woods and now it is time to go in for some fine tuning.
We have cleared out roots and small stumps that could trip up a Dancer.
Later we will seed the arbor with native ground cover to create a soft and beautiful space for ceremony. We will also be building the arbor toilets, showers, and other supporting necessities before October.
This month, focus will be on building the arbor! We will be setting posts and adding a roof. More sticks and rocks need to be cleared from the ground as well.
If you would like to get involved and volunteer, we would be most grateful. And it will be a lot of fun!

Pyro Peculiar Presents An Evening of Fire & Flow: The September Showcase
Introducing Pyro Peculiar, Charlotte's up and coming fire and variety act troupe, the September Showcase will feature a blend of original movement art pieces, music, and poetry by troupe members and collaborators for an evening's extravaganza of fire and flow.
Doors open at 4 pm for a pre-show family-friendly flow zone and series of movement art workshops including yoga and dancing.
Browse our vendor tent of local artists, including flow prop makers.
Showcase begins 6:30 pm with aerial acts followed by fire and LED performances.

Animatrix Fire Dance
Every woman is an Animatrix, she who animates something, brings something to life, she who quickens. Each in our own way, we are creators.
The Animatrix Fire Dance is a 3-day Ceremonial Medicine Dance for all women, including transwomen and women of all faiths and beliefs.
This Dance will ignite the passion and creativity within you to live your life fully as intended by your Spirit. This dance is about stepping into life fully and completely. It will burn away the thing inside that blocks you and holds you back. The energy of this Animatrix Fire Dance is incredibly powerful! We dance with 5 fires within a Medicine Wheel. The Grandmother Ancestors and Archetypal Feminine Spirit Keepers of the Directions are Dancing too! The Feminine Spirit is Dancing in the Fires. It is tangible.
The Mother/Grandmother Ancestors have been calling us to remember. We honor our Ancestral Mothers and Grandmothers as we step into our own healing and invite them to Dance with us! We will be Dancing in the energy of releasing of the old patterns, rebirth and remembering who we are. We Dance for ourselves, for our Ancestors and for the women who come after. This Dance will ignite the passion and creativity within you to live your life fully as an empowered woman.
Whether you are called to be a Dancer or to serve the Dance as part of the Support crew, your life will be forever changed. This Dance will open your heart in a new way and create connections to your Ancestral Mothers and Community. I thank you for considering being a part of this Ceremony.

Shamanic Drum Journey & Channeled Sound
Join Bright Haven co-founder Wendy Mattingly for an evening of journeying, guided by light language. We will begin with a grounding mediation to align our channel and root to the earth before entering our heart space to journey. Each person’s journey is an individual experience, whether it is a search for answers to a question, a bid to connect with their spirit guides, power animals or etheric helpers or simply to find a space of peace within the self. We will have an opportunity to share at the end.
Please bring whatever you need to lay down comfortably such as a pillow, blanket, yoga mat, or eye mask.

The Practical Spirituality practices and principles are rooted in the animistic and shamanistic understandings of our ancestral cultures around the world. It is time to work with the knowledge of our own ancestors for the benefit of our modern world. This is a connection to the earth and to the spirits, understanding that we are part of the whole. We can use this knowledge for our daily walk as well as for healing ourselves and others. I will guide you as you dive into these teachings as a way of connecting these spiritual principles into your physical practices.
