Meet the Souls Behind the Mission

Bright Haven is run by Wendy and Valerie Mattingly. We are a queer married couple and the proud parents of a beautiful little girl. We have been together for 8 years and have helped each other grow professionally, emotionally and spiritual every step of the way.


  • Co-Founder

    Wendy is a reiki master and intuitive channel walking the shamanic priestess path. She is the visionary behind Bright Haven and wants to help others along their healing journey in the same way she was guided by so many before her.

    She is a forever student on this earth school and believes we should always be growing and learning.

    Wendy weaves ancestral wisdom with modern frameworks and holistic healing. Her work is grounded in the belief that community care, land stewardship, and spiritual sovereignty are essential to personal and collective liberation.

    When not working on the farm, she loves to paint, travel, dance and drum.


  • Co-Founder

    Valerie is a woodworker and early childhood education instructor. She is the grounded, actionable force behind Bright Haven. She takes Wendy’s big ideas and works hard to make them a reality.

    Valerie is full of the life, energy and ingenuity that is the foundation of this work.

    When not working on the farm, you can find her in her woodshop making something beautiful or follow the smoke to a fire she is tending.
