Samhain Celebration and Ceremony
Come together as the veil draws thin to celebrate the Celtic New Year.
Samhain (pronounced sow-wen) is said to be the time of year when the veils between worlds are the thinnest. It is a time when people of all earth based spiritual practices celebrate and recognize the changing of the seasons, the falling leaves, the death and decay that begins to form and process over the winter that makes way for new life in the spring. It is a time to honor our ancestors, to acknowledge and lean into the cyclical nature of our being, to lean into the death and rebirth of the natural and spiritual world and to set intentions for the life we want to create.
Samhain marks the halfway point between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, making it one of four Celtic cross-quarter days (the other three being Imbolc, Beltane, and Lughnasa.) It is a time to celebrate the harvests of the pastoral year, while marking the beginning of the next. Samhain is a still point, a chance to pause, reflect and give thanks.
What to expect:
Pumpkin carving (to ward off evil spirits)
A sharing circle to reflect on our year and celebrate our harvests
A burn ceremony to release that which is ready to die
Shamanic drum ceremony to connect with our well and healthy ancestors
