Community Drum Circle w/ DeeAnn Macomson
In our drum circle this month, I will introduce a few ice breakers and rhythm games to get us connected and comfortable in the circle. This also gives us a chance to let go of our day and fully arrive in our bodies and be fully present with each other. After the warm up, we will build rhythms together, taking turns introducing rhythms and allowing everyone to express themselves through the drums. Everyone has rhythm, beginning with our heartbeats, and there is no way to do it “wrong” In the circle, all are welcome, all are equal, and all are seen. Each individual rhythm contributes to the success of the whole drumming body, so each person helps create the experience for all.Newcomers are welcome and drums and percussion are provided. Of course, bring any drum or musical instrument that you have, we love having a variety!
